MANDARIN & GENERAL is a conceptual project focusing on creating a contemporary design brand using Chinese culture as a foundation and design tool. Founded in New York City by Taiwanese-born designer, Peggy Tan, the line finds its inspiration in the heritage of Mandarin-dress making. It cleverly sources, reconsiders, and reinvents constructional tradition and details in Chinese garments that Mandarin & General ultimately translates into fresh and meaningful designs for today.
